Blade Runner and Batman Begins star Rutger Hauer has joined the cast of a new Scottish independent film.
Former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy, Still Game's Ford Kiernan and Gregory's Girl star Clare Grogan have already been cast in Journey Bound.
Director Ryan Hendrick said he was "incredibly excited" that Hauer had signed up for the rom-com road movie.
The production team scouted for potential locations in the west Highlands and Skye last summer.
Journey Bound follows city lawyer Neil and his trouble-hit attempt to salvage his relationship with neglected fiancée Karen.
To put things right he must travel to Cape Wrath in the north of Scotland where she has taken a job as an environmental researcher.
Hauer, who also starred in the movie The Hitcher and US TV series True Blood, is best known for his role as Roy Batty in 1982 sci-fi Blade Runner, which also starred Harrison Ford.
Hendrick said: "We are all incredibly excited to welcome Rutger onboard.
"I have been an avid fan of his work for many years and relish the opportunity to work with him on my debut feature.
"We decided that we would aim high with this film. What is the worst that can happen, people say 'No'? Rutger is perfect for this role, he is in the unique position to make a real impact in this film. I don't know what we would have done if he had said no.
"We reached out to him through the official channels and it is really in the first instance about whether or not he identified with the project and the script. Incredibly for us he came back very positive about it."
The Bafta-nominated film-maker added: "We did suffer a setback in the tail end of 2014 and filming had to be postponed, but this is the kind of day to day risk that exists with film production, especially in the current climate. Lessons were learned."
