Mountain rescue teams have been stood down their search for a missing hillwalker because of bad weather.

Eric Cyl, 62, was last seen heading off into the Mamore mountain range near Fort William on Saturday morning.

Police were contacted on Sunday when he failed to return.

Lochaber and Glencoe Mountain Rescue teams have been searching in an area known as Ring of Steall with specialist rescue dogs and a coastguard helicopter.

Mr Cyl, from England, who was walking alone, was last seen wearing a light grey jacket and dark trousers and was carrying two walking poles.

Police appealed for anyone who saw him in the region on Saturday to contact them.
