Microsoft's Windows 10 gives Skye view

The landscape of north Skye features in previews of Microsoft's next generation operating system Windows 10.

A photograph of the Quiraing in the Trotternish peninsula has appeared as an option for desktop displays.

Microsoft has not said whether the image will be available when the software goes on general release at the end of July.

The Quiraing is part of the Trotternish Ridge which was formed by a series of massive ancient landslips.

The Quiraing was the largest of the slips.

Its appearance in previews of Windows 10 has popped up in blogs reporting on the release of the new software.

Skye's landscape is a favourite with technology and creative industry businesses.

Computer game Skylanders was "twinned" with the island in 2013.

Big budget films shot on Skye have included Prometheus and 47 Ronin.
