Commonwealth Games silver medallist Stephanie Inglis' "brain is healing" following an operation in a hospital in Thailand, her family has said.

The judo athlete suffered head injuries in a motorbike taxi accident in Vietnam on 10 May.

The 27-year-old has been in a coma since and also developed pneumonia.

She was flown to Bangkok last week and taken to a hospital equipped to treat her. Her family said the surgery went well and the pneumonia was improving.

Ms Inglis, from Inverness, won her silver medal at Glasgow 2014.
