A piece of decorated pottery is among the finds made so far
A prehistoric arrowhead, pieces of pottery and the remains of an ancient roundhouse have been uncovered during road works in Inverness.
Archaeologists have been closely monitoring the construction of the city's new West Link Road for artefacts.
The arrowhead has been sent to a laboratory for analysis.
Stone tools, flints, clay pipe stems and evidence of ancient iron manufacturing have also been found.
The West Link is being constructed on the south east side of Inverness.
Highland Council hopes that, once completed, the road will ease congestion in the city centre.
