One of the most remotely-situated book festivals in Britain has announced the line-up for this year's celebration of literature.
Faclan will be held at An Lanntair in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and other venues on the Western Isles next week.
Scots Makar, Jackie Kay, will appear at events on Lewis and North Uist.
New York-based graphic novelist Nick Abadzis, who writes Doctor Who stories, is another guest speaker.
Also to appear at the festival is Amy Liptrot, who has received critical acclaim for her memoir of addiction The Outrun.
The book tells the story of how, after more than a decade in London, and unable to control her drinking, Liptrot returned to the Orkney sheep farm where she grew up.
Artist Marion Coutts along with writers Madeleine Bunting, Philip Hoare and Lewis-based trio Kevin MacNeil, Ian Stephen and Peter Urpeth are also among the festival's guests.
