First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is to give this year's Charles Kennedy Memorial Lecture, which forms part of Lochaber Ideas Week.
The lecture was held for the first time in 2015 following Mr Kennedy's death at the age of 55 in June that year.
He was a former leader of the Lib Dems and was MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber before losing the seat in the 2015 election.
Ms Sturgeon will deliver the lecture in Fort William on 18 November.
The event in Lochaber High School forms part of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce's Ideas Week, which promotes innovation in a wide range of businesses.
Last year's inaugural lecture was delivered by Lord Wallace.
