A new international festival will take place this year focusing on photography and photographers living and working in countries in northern Europe and north Atlantic.
The inaugural Flow Photography Festival will take place in September 2017 with a theme of "People and Place".
The festival will open at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness and feature photographers from, or working in, countries including Scotland and others in Scandinavia and the Baltic.
A series of images from photographers working across the Northern Hemisphere showing people and places from the region have been released as part of the announcement of the festival.
There will be a series of concurrent events throughout the north of Scotland with the larger collections later being taken on a tour after September and into 2018.
Workshops, a photography competition and one-to-one portfolio reviews by professional photographers are also to be held.
Sites across the Highlands and Islands will also be involved in the festival including venues such as An Lanntair Museum and Art Gallery in Stornoway on Lewis, Timespan Museum and Art Gallery in Helmsdale and Inverewe House near Poolewe.
