High winds have also affected travel on the Skye and Dornoch Bridges, while snow and hail have been falling elsewhere.

Police and Traffic Scotland warned of falling snow on the A93 at Glenshee and on the B974 Banchory to Fettercairn road.

Strong winds have disrupted a number of Caledonian MacBrayne's west coast ferry services.
