Firefighters have tackled a large wildfire near a popular loch in the Cairngorms National Park.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a 300m by 200m area of heather, gorse and forestry south of Loch Morlich was affected.

The alarm was raised at about 14:15 on Saturday. Firefighters declared the incident over at about 09:30 on Sunday.

Two wildfire units and five pumps were sent to the scene in Glenmore Forest Park, near Aviemore.

The national park has recently warned of a high fire risk in the area.
