Man in court accused of murder and attacks around Skye

A man has appeared in court accused of murder and the attempted murder of three others in a series of incidents around Skye.
Finlay MacDonald appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court after attacks on Skye and Dornie in Lochalsh on Wednesday.
John MacKinnon, 47, died on the island. Mr MacDonald's wife Rowena, 32, is in a critical condition. Another man and woman, both 63, were also injured.
Mr MacDonald, 39, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Rowena MacDonald was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following an attack on Skye. Her condition is described as critical.
John Don Mackenzie and Fay Mackenzie were injured in Dornie.
Mr Mackenzie is reported to be in a serious condition at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Mrs Mackenzie was discharged.
Finlay MacDonald faces a murder charge and two charges of assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
He also faces a charge of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.
