Seven lorries jackknife on A9 overnight

Seven lorries have jackknifed during icy conditions on the A9 in the Highlands.

Police were alerted to the first incident near Dalnaspidal at 00:15 with the last at about 02:00.

One person was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Officers closed the road between House of Bruar and Dalwhinnie while the vehicles were cleared.

The northbound road reopened just before 06:00.

Meanwhile the southbound route reopened at about 11:00.
