A man has died after falling on a mountain in Glencoe.
The 40-year-old was climbing Stob Dearg, Buachaille Etive Mòr, with a companion.
Police Scotland said officers were called to the scene at about 11:15 on Saturday. The man died at the scene.
Glencoe Mountain Rescue said it retrieved the man's body and rescued his cragfast climbing partner from the mountain during an "arduous" eight-hour operation.
Glencoe Mountain Rescue leader Andy Nelson said: "The gentleman who fell on Buachaille Etive Mor, appears to have been very unlucky; his partner describing a small slip, after having scrambled up a steeper section of rock, which led to a significant fall in rocky terrain."
He said that the climbing partner and three mountain rescue members were airlifted from the mountain by the Coastguard.
"Glencoe Mountain Rescue offer condolences to the family and friends of the fallen climber," Mr Nelson added.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
The Buachaille callout was one of five during a busy Easter weekend for Glencoe Mountain Rescue, Mr Nelson said.
