Police searching for a hillwalker who went missing last month have found a body in the Glen Etive area of Glencoe.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of 56-year-old Charlie Kelly have been informed.

Mr Kelly left his home in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, on 6 September to travel to the Highlands. He was last in touch with his family the following day.

Police Scotland said there were no apparent suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson added a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Members of 10 different mountain rescue teams, including civilian, RAF and police, searched a massive area and difficult terrain in the days after father-of-three Mr Kelly was reported missing.

The search also involved dogs, drones and helicopters.

Visitors to Glen Etive and the surrounding hills were asked for help with possible sightings of the missing walker.
