Kirkwall has been named as the UK's best cruise ship port of call at the annual industry awards.

The Orkney town sailed past the competition to take the CruiseCritic.co.uk title.

Judges praised the efforts made to improve harbour facilities and highlighted the experiences of visitors while ashore.

The town has been a busy cruise destination this year, with more than 70 liners docking.
