Task force meets over illegal north east travellers

  • Published

A task force set up to tackle concerns caused by illegal traveller camps in the north east of Scotland is to meet for the first time.

Housing and Communities Minister Alex Neil will hold talks with Grampian Police, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire councils, and MSPs at Holyrood.

The representatives are to discuss problems created by the camps.

Mr Neil formed the task force after a series of complaints from residents last year.

The minister is understood to be looking into creating more permanent sites for traveller communities.
