The funeral of long-serving Aberdeen councillor Ron Clark has been held.

The Lib Dem representative for Dyce, Bucksburn and Danestone had been in public service for more than 30 years.

He died last weekend, leading to tributes from political colleagues from all parties, and a minute's silence at a full council meeting.

The service for Mr Clark, who was in his 70s, was at the west chapel of Aberdeen Crematorium. Many council representatives attended.

Aberdeen Lord Provost Peter Stephen said earlier: "Councillor Clark made a huge contribution not only to his own area but to the life of the city as a whole.

"He was a dedicated and loyal councillor."

A by-election will be held within three months.
