Three fishermen have admitted making false declarations about fish worth almost £3m which they landed.

George Anderson, 55, from Shetland, Alexander Masson, 65, from Fraserburgh, and Alexander Wiseman, 59, from Banff, made the landings in Shetland.

They admitted the crimes at the High Court in Glasgow.

The landings were made at Shetland Catch Ltd, which previously pleaded guilty to assisting skippers commit the crime.

The three men made illegal landings of mackerel and herring at Lerwick between 2002 and 2005.

Sentence was deferred on all three until later this year.
