Voting for new University of Aberdeen rector beginning

Voting of the new University of Aberdeen rector is due to get under way.
Six candidates are in the running for the post, with voting opening at 09:00, and closing at 17:00 on Thursday.
Two candidates are Dr Maitland Mackie, of the Mackie's ice cream firm, and Colin Lawson from the haulage industry.
The other four are student Matthew Bell, lawyer James Steel, music photographer and reviewer David Craig, and charity founder Jim Henderson.
The new rector will take up the post on 1 January, succeeding Scotland The What? star Stephen Robertson after his three-year term.
