Shetland project gets £350,000 from Big Lottery Fund

A Shetland housing group which supports young people leaving care has won £350,000 in Big Lottery Fund money.

The Hjaltland Housing Association project aims to provide support for 35 individuals.

Fiona Robertson, the association's housing services manager, said the award would change the lives of vulnerable young people.

Big Lottery Fund Scotland chair Maureen McGinn said the aim of the funding was to support independent living.
