Orkney's Skara Brae rated as a 'must see'

The famous Neolithic village of Skara Brae in Orkney has been voted one of the UK's "must see" attractions.

The settlement, which was inhabited 5,000 years ago, was one of only eight visitor attractions to receive an annual merit award by CIE Tours.

Skara Brae's manager, Mary Dunnett, travelled to Dublin to receive the award.

She said: "It was a great honour to meet the Irish tourism minister and accept this award on behalf of staff."
