The aim of the third River Don crossing is to improve access to the north of Aberdeen
Ministers have ruled compulsory purchase orders can be used to create the controversial third River Don crossing in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen City Council has had long-held plans to build the bridge, linking Tillydrone and Grandholm, to ease congestion.
A public inquiry into the potential use of CPOs took place last November.
Ministers said a fair balance had been struck. Opponents said they were shocked by the ruling.
An Aberdeen City Council spokesman said officers would present a report on the decision and the third Don crossing to councillors in due course.
