PC Fiona Bone: Laid to rest in Moray where she was raised

PC Fiona Bone was shot dead on 18 September

Police woman Fiona Bone, who died in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester, has been laid to rest in Moray where she was brought up.

The 32-year-old constable died alongside colleague PC Nicola Hughes, 23, in Mottram last month.

She was educated in Hopeman and Lossiemouth while her father served in the RAF.

The private ceremony at Clovenside Cemetery in Forres was attended by PC Bone's immediate family.

A simple plaque bearing her name, her age and the date she died, marks the grave.

Her funeral took place at Manchester Cathedral last week.

PC Bone had served with Greater Manchester Police for five years, starting out as a special constable.

The unarmed police constables had been sent to Abbey Gardens in Mottram to investigate what appeared to be a routine burglary report on 18 September when they were attacked with a gun and grenade.

Dale Cregan, 29, is in custody charged with the officers' murders, along with those of two other men.
