Two Bond Super Pumas return to shore after 'noises'

Two offshore Super Puma helicopters returned to base over safety fears.

The two Bond-operated L2 models returned to Aberdeen on Thursday morning. It is understood passengers had reported hearing noises.

A spokesman for Bond said the helicopters were checked over, cleared to fly, and returned to service.

The EC 225 Super Puma model has been grounded since one ditched off Shetland last month. It was caused by a cracked shaft in the main gearbox.

All 19 people on board the CHC Helicopters aircraft were rescued safely after it put down in the sea on 22 October.
