Stonehaven and Kingston flood communities to hold public meetings

Public meetings are set to be held in two north east of Scotland communities badly affected by recent flooding.

People in Stonehaven had to leave their homes after the River Carron burst its banks, resulting in serious damage.

David Fleming from the local community council, which organised the meeting, said it wanted to listen to those who had been affected.

Residents in Kingston will discuss damage to a shingle bank off the coast which failed to protect their homes.

Moray Council's economic development and infrastructure committee has already visited the village.

Thousands of pounds have been raised towards the cost of repairing the damage in Stonehaven, and some residents are considering legal action against the council.
