Super Puma EC 225 helicopter seating could be changed

The manufacturer of the Super Puma helicopter has announced proposals to change the seating in some of its aircraft.

The industry is already consulting on seating layout amid concerns from oil workers about escaping in an emergency.

Now Eurocopter has said it is proposing to introduce new seats in its EC 225 models.

A spokesman said the main aim was to improve comfort.

Four people died when a Super Puma crashed off Shetland last month.

An investigation into the CHC-operated Super Puma AS332 L2 crash is ongoing.

Sarah Darnley, 45, of Elgin, Gary McCrossan, 59, from Inverness, Duncan Munro, 46, from Bishop Auckland, and George Allison, 57, from Winchester, lost their lives in the incident.
