The public's views on the future shape of Aberdeen city centre will be taken into account, the local council has said.

The reassurance came as the second stage of a consultation got under way.

Muse Developments has been chosen by the city council to deliver a civic square, offices, hotel and shops on the site of its former headquarters at St Nicholas House.

Deputy council leader Marie Boulton told BBC Scotland: "It's really, really important that people engage at this stage, to make sure we get the best layout."

More than 1,000 council staff vacated the 14-storey building, erected in 1968, for the newly-refurbished Marischal College building in 2011.
