Aberdeen fans had been hoping for even more tickets to see their team

Aberdeen will not be given any more tickets for the Scottish League Cup final, it has emerged.

The Dons have already sold their 40,000 allocation for Sunday's match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park.

The club had asked the Scottish Professional Football League for more tickets to meet the continuing demand, but the request has been declined.

Caley Thistle fans have purchased 7,000 tickets.

A spokesman for the SPFL said: "We have spoken to the police and safety officer about releasing seats in the Lisbon Lions Upper however that has been declined."
