Plans for 400 new homes at a site near the notorious Haudagain roundabout in Aberdeen have been lodged.

A consortium led by GSS Developments wants to build 250 private and 150 affordable homes on playing fields at Persley Den as part of a £70m project.

The site is already zoned for housing in the city's local development plan.

Paul Stevenson, director of GSS Developments, said: "Aberdeen has a real issue with the lack of properties available to buy and rent in the city."

If planning permission is approved, it is hoped construction work could start within a year.
