Four men rescued from rising waters on the River North Esk

The emergency services were called out on Monday afternoon
Four fishermen trapped by rising waters on the River North Esk have been rescued.
They are believed to be uninjured. The emergency services had been alerted to the danger at about 15:30.
One man, at Marykirk, was rescued by small boat from the island where he had been fishing.
Another three were airlifted to safety nearly three miles downstream by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Boulmer.
Coastguards and a rescue helicopter were involved in helping bring the men to safety
A statement on the HM Coastguard Angus and Mearns Facebook page said: "Coastguards from Montrose were tasked shortly after 4pm to reports of two separate incidents on the North Esk involving trapped anglers.
"Scottish Fire and Rescue rescued one person using an inflatable at Marykirk and Rescue Helicopter R131 from RAF Boulmer rescued three more anglers from an island near the Lower Northwater Bridge."
