Man and woman killed in Aberdeen bike smash named

A man and a woman in their 20s who died in a crash involving a motorbike and a car in Aberdeen have been identified.

Steven Reiach, 23, from the Northfield area of the city, and Dawn Watson, 24, of Seaton, were the victims.

The fatal collision, involving an off-road bike and an Alfa Romeo car, took place at about 20:50 BST on Wednesday in the city's Hilton Drive at the junction with Hilton Road.

Mr Reiach died at the scene. Ms Watson died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The 44-year-old man who was driving the car was uninjured.

The road was closed until about 02:00 to allow for accident investigation work.

Insp Ian Kirkwood said: "Inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this collision are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to contact us on 101."
