Agreement ahead of new Aberdeenshire Council administration reached

An agreement which paves the way for a new administration for Aberdeenshire Council has been reached.

The Democratic Independent and Green Group of Paul Johnston and Martin Ford have agreed to support a new alliance.

They would remain a separate group but said they would support a new administration in key votes.

The council's ruling Conservative-led administration has seen the resignation of four councillors this month, leaving it a minority.

Any change to the administration would need to be voted through at a meeting of the full Aberdeenshire Council.
