St Joseph's RC School to be sold to Aberdeen City Council
- Published
Aberdeen St Joseph's RC School is to be bought by the city council.
The purchase - from the Society of the Sacred Heart - includes the school buildings, residential properties on the site and the school grounds, for no more than £12.75m.
The council said it would deliver "certainty over the long-term continuity of the education provision at St Joseph's".
It will take ownership when the current lease ends on 31 July 2017.
Angela Taylor, convener of education and children's services, said: "Education is a priority for this council and by agreeing to purchase St Joseph's RC School and its grounds shows a genuine commitment by us, not only to the school community but also to RC education in the city."
