Kingsford plans

A date for a special meeting which will decide whether to grant permission to Aberdeen FC to build a new stadium has been set.

The club put plans for the £50m stadium and training facilities at Kingsford, near Westhill, on hold in October.

The special meeting of Aberdeen City Council will take place on 29 January from 10:30.

A pre-determination hearing will take place on 17 January from 09:30.

Aberdeen FC chairman Stewart Milne said: "We're very pleased that we'll have a decision by the end of January and are quietly confident we'll get the right outcome."

Objectors want the club to look elsewhere.
