Death of man found in garden in Sauchen 'not suspicious'

Police have confirmed that the death of a 65-year-old man in the Sauchen area of Aberdeenshire is not being being treated as suspicious.

The body of John Thomson was discovered near the A944 on the outskirts of Sauchen on Sunday afternoon.

He was reported to have attended an event at Thainstone the previous day.

Officers involved in the case have thanked members of the public who contacted them with information about Mr Thomson.

Det Insp David Howieson said: "Inquiries remain ongoing however at present we are content there is nothing to suggest any suspicious circumstances.

"We are grateful to the community for its support whilst inquiries are carried out and thankful to those members of the public who have contacted Police to provide information."
