The train appeared to be back on the track on Thursday evening
A derailed train which brought services to a halt between Aberdeen and Dundee has been moved back onto the tracks.
The train derailed at Stonehaven on Wednesday, leading to the closure of the line.
Engineers will inspect the track once the train has been moved to see if there is any damage.
Scotrail has warned, however, that the line will remain closed on Friday morning for inspection and possible repair work to continue.

Accident investigators were sent to the scene
Replacement buses between Aberdeen and Dundee were set up as a result of the derailment.
No passengers were on the train. Accident investigators are at the scene.

As well as ScotRail disruption, many other services were being affected by the incident, including the Caledonian Sleeper between Aberdeen and London Euston and LNER trains between Aberdeen and Leeds/London Kings Cross.
'Inspect the track'
Network Rail said in a statement: "We are working closely with the RAIB (Rail Accident Investigation Branch) to investigate the incident.
"Once those investigations are complete we have specialist engineers on site to re-rail the train and inspect the track beneath for damage.
"We will reopen the line as quickly as we can for customers once the tracks have been inspected and repairs made."
