Engineers have been investigating the cause
Thousands of people in Aberdeenshire and Moray who were without gas have been told to start switching supplies back on.
Distribution company SGN said about 4,500 properties in Huntly and Keith had been affected on Tuesday.
Hot food and heaters were being offered to those who needed them.
SGN has now said that the network issue has been resolved and affected residents could now switch supplies on again at the meter, external.
Gas appliances should remain off while this is done.
SGN said a full investigation would be carried out into what caused the fault.
The incident came at a time of freezing temperatures.
SGN said: "Thank you to everyone in Huntly and Keith for your patience while you've been without gas.
"We know it's not been easy and we're extremely sorry for the disruption you've experienced."
