Pedestrian dies after being hit by HGV in Elgin

The incident happened on Tuesday morning

A 42-year-old man has died after being hit by an HGV in Moray.

The incident happened on Birnie Road in Elgin at about 10:00 on Tuesday. Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The unclassified road, next to Elgin Golf Club, was closed to allow a collision investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The road was closed while enquiries into the crash were carried out, but has now re-opened."
