Police had sealed off part of the St Clement Street area of Aberdeen

A man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a woman in a churchyard in Aberdeen.

Police had been called to the St Clement Street area of the city at about 02:20 on Sunday 15 May.

Sean Wyness, 31, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday charged in connection with the incident.

He made no plea and was released on bail.
