Woman charged with murder after man's death in Aberdeen

Police have named the dead man as 49-year-old Neil Jolly

A woman has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man at a block of flats in Aberdeen.

Police found 49-year-old Neil Jolly's body within a property in Marischal Court, in the Castlegate area, at about 01:20 on Monday.

Elizabeth Sweeney, 35, of Aberdeen, later appeared at the city's sheriff court. She made no plea and was remanded in custody.

A Police Scotland spokesman said investigations were ongoing.

Det Insp William Murdoch said: "Our thoughts are very much with Neil's family and friends, as well as everyone else affected by his death.

"We are providing his family with support at this difficult time."
