David McGuinness died in hospital following a disturbance on Tuesday morning

A man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a father-of-four following a disturbance in Stonehaven.

David McGuinness, 30, from Inverurie, died in hospital after the incident at a property in Broomhill Road on Tuesday morning.

Rodney Shaw, 50, of Montrose, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court charged with culpable homicide.

He made no plea and was released on bail.
