A teenager charged after a blaze at a former community hall in Aberdeenshire will not face court action, BBC Scotland News has learned.
The fire broke out at Marshall Mackenzie Road, Kingseat, in April 2022.
Police had said a man, 18, was charged in connection with wilful fireraising at the derelict building and would be reported to the procurator fiscal.
The Crown Office said it had now been decided there would be no proceedings.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to the scene on the evening of the blaze.
Two boys aged 13 and 15 were also charged at the time and were to be reported to the youth justice management unit.
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said: "The procurator fiscal received a report relating to a 18-year old male and an incident said to have occurred on 12 April 2022.
"After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence, the procurator fiscal decided that there should be no proceedings taken at this time."
The statement added: "The Crown reserves the right to proceed in the future should further evidence become available."
