Man charged over death of woman, 24, in Shetland

A man has been charged with the death of a 24-year-old woman in Shetland.
Emergency services were called to a house in the village of Sandness at about 16.55 on Sunday, after reports of a disturbance.
The woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said a 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment. The man is due to appear before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Several police vehicles, ambulances and coastguard teams were seen at the nearby Melby pier area on Sunday after the incident was reported.
Emergency services then remained at both locations into Monday, with police cordons in place.
