One of two teenagers killed in electric motorbike crash in Moray named

One of two teenagers who died in a crash involving an electric motorbike and four cars has been named.

Marcus Beck, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the A941 Elgin to Lossiemouth road on Monday evening.

A 16-year-old boy was also killed in the incident, while the 14-year-old rider of the trail-type bike was in a stable condition in hospital.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash.

The two teenagers who died were passengers on the bike, which was a Sur-Ron Light Bee X.

Marcus' family said they were in shock following his death and added that he would be "very much missed".

"Marcus was a young man who loved going out and about with his mates," a statement released through Police Scotland read.

"He will be missed so very much by all of his family and his friends.

"We cannot begin to explain what a shock this has been for everyone and we would like time to be able to come to terms with what has happened."

Investigation under way

The road was closed for more than 12 hours while an initial investigation into the crash took place.

The incident happened around 20:00 and involved the bike, a blue Vauxhall Mokka, a red Renault Clio, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white VW Golf.

A 54-year-old man, driving the Mokka, was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin for treatment and later released.

No-one else was hurt in the incident.

The road was reopened on Tuesday morning at about 11:00.

Officers asked for anyone who saw the incident or had dashcam footage from the area to share it with investigators.
