Edinburgh distribution and aviation services firm John Menzies said the royal wedding gave it a temporary boost.

The event increased volumes of the weekend newspapers and magazines it delivered.

However it said, in general, conditions in the first four months in this division remained difficult.

Meanwhile Menzies said trading at its aviation business was up 11%, helped by new contract wins.

The group distributes newspapers and magazines in the UK and provides passenger and cargo handling facilities to the aviation industry.

The company, founded in 1833, pulled out of the High Street in 1998.
