International effort pays off for Cupid

Edinburgh-based Cupid is currently trading ahead of market expectations

Scottish online dating company Cupid has announced that more than 50% of its monthly revenue is now coming from outside the UK.

The Edinburgh-based group is currently trading ahead of market expectations, with monthly revenues exceeding £4m.

North America has emerged as its strongest performer, with India also trading above forecast.

The group has bought the French domain cupidon.com for £175,000 to boost revenues from the French dating market.

Uptake of the group's mobile phone products has also increased.

Bill Dobbie, chief executive of Cupid plc, said: "Our growing revenues are a reflection of our continued geographical growth and increased uptake of our mobile applications.

"We are very pleased to upgrade our forecasts for 2011, 2012 and 2013 and look forward to this growth continuing."
