Bus firm McGill's is taking over rivals Arriva Scotland West in a deal thought to be worth more than £10m.
The Greenock-based company will more than double in size after the acquisition, taking its workforce to more than 700.
McGill's, which operates nearly 200 buses from its Greenock and Barrhead depots, will take on Arriva's depots in Johnstone and Inchinnan and 165 buses.
The deal is expected to be completed in late February or early March.
Arriva Scotland West is a bus operating subsidiary of transport services firm Arriva.
McGill's managing director Ralph Roberts said: "Upon completion, the transaction will give McGill's operational efficiences and development of our business, both in Renfrewshire and further afield.
"The senior team at McGill's will work closely with Arriva Scotland West management to ensure as seamless a transfer for staff and ultimately, for passengers, as possible. Further announcements will follow."
