Glasgow 2014: Selex appointed official security provider

An Italian-owned electronics and IT firm has been selected to provide security measures for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Selex ES, which is part of the Finmeccanica industrial group, has been appointed Official Protective Perimeter Security Provider for the event.
The agreement will see Selex provide security fencing, lighting, CCTV and security management systems.
It will secure more than 20 Games venues, including the athletes village.
The design phase of the contract will begin immediately and all installations are due to be completed by early July.
Selex, which has bases in Italy and the UK, runs a worldwide workforce of nearly 18,000 - 2,000 of which are based in Scotland.
Its operation in Edinburgh works with 120 Scottish suppliers.
Selex is one of a number of companies which are sponsoring the Games as an Official Supporter.
Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg said: "Glasgow 2014, along with Police Scotland and our Games Partners, is focused on delivering a safe and secure environment for all who will be part of the Games.
