The new jobs will be spread across Stewart Milne Group's homes divisions

Stewart Milne Group has announced plans to create more than 250 new jobs over the next 12 months.

The Aberdeen-based housebuilder said the posts would support growth in its homes and timber systems divisions.

The roles include skilled tradespeople, site managers, quantity surveyors, architects and cost estimators.

They will be spread across the group's homes divisions in Scotland and north-west England, and its timber systems facility in Witney, Oxfordshire.

The group already employs 800 people, having created 160 new jobs last year.

It also employs more than 2,000 subcontractors across its UK operations.

The company said its recruitment strategy was being driven by its pipeline of home developments and increasing demand for its timber systems.

Chief executive Glenn Allison says a wide range of posts will be created

Stewart Milne Group chief executive Glenn Allison said: "This is an enormously exciting time to be working in the construction sector, as we bring premium new homes projects forward to meet market demand and continue to grow our timber systems business.

"Many people probably do not appreciate the full range of skills and expertise that our business encompasses but our recruitment this year will include the full spectrum, spanning joiners, electricians, plumbers and roofers through to design, cost estimating, contracts management, HR and finance.

"The message from us is that if you are talented then we would like to hear from you."
