Police have appealed for witnesses following a "high value" theft from a wind farm construction site in the Scottish Borders.

The incident occurred some time between 1630 BST on Sunday and 0600 BST at the Glenkerie Wind Farm on the A701 near to Broughton.

Two green Landrovers, a white Ford Transit minibus and a quad bike were stolen from the building site.

Anyone with information about the raid has been asked to contact police.

Novera Energy has planning permission to build 11 turbines at the site near Tweedsmuir.

Concerns were raised about the environmental and visual impact of the proposal when it was discussed by Scottish Borders Council in September 2008.

However, council planners said these could be addressed by a string of conditions.
